The January 6, 2021 "Insurrection" Needs an Independent Investigation

The January 6, 2021 "insurrection" has not been thoroughly investigated by the FBI or the media.

The January 6, 2021 disturbance at the Capitol was a godsend to the radical left and its supporters. Media claims that BLM and Antifa riots were “mostly peaceful” and politicians claiming these groups are not organized have proven ineffective.  After approximately 2 billion dollars worth of property damage and over two dozen deaths the Deep State is now able to point to this incident and draw attention away from the BLM and Antifa riots.  Is it possible that the radical left realized this potential benefit and decided to infiltrate the protest to insure it was more violent?  FBI Chief Chris Wray claimed there was no evidence Antifa members played a role during the January 6th US Capitol protests

In spite of what FBI Chief Wray says there was at least one radical leftist posturing as a Trump supporter at the Capitol.   John Sullivan fancies himself a leader of numerous leftists.  He was accompanied by a female, Jade Sacker, a documentary photographer from a Native American family culturally displaced from their land.  It is unlikely that she is a Trump supporter.  Sullivan's brother, James Sullivan, claims there were 226 members of Antifa involved in the attack on the Capitol on January 6.  One of John Sullivan's correspondents, deaththreat, claimed, "I was in front line of the battle and know who was there (sic) personally.  It was a large sum of anti-thumpers." The FBI claims Antifa was not involved.  They have performed a thorough investigation and therefore anyone believing otherwise is a conspiracy theorist or mentally imbalanced.  However, the FBI might have a reason to conceal the radical participation.

The FBI routinely infiltrates radical groups.  Jeremy Brown attended the Stop the Steal protests in Washington DC on January 6.  He has videotaped FBI efforts to recruit him to spy on patriot groups.  He did not release these tapes until he became angered by the lies surrounding the event: “After listening to politicians and the FBI Director, Chris Wray, tell lie after bald-faced lie to the American People, he could not stay silent any longer.”  John Sullivan's radical actions are played down by the media.  Politifact claims there’s no evidence that Sullivan "incited (the) insurgence" on his own.  Jade Sacker claimed, "He was vocal, but I wouldn’t say he was inciting violence."  Sullivan is on tape saying, “If we don’t get in, we’re going to burn this shit down” among other obscene and volatile remarks.

Could the FBI be involved in activities that it would not want the American public to know about?  According to Judge Andrew Napolitano, in the past 10 years, there’ve been 20 Terrorist plots against the US. Three of those plots were real the other 17 were created–and then stopped–by the FBI.  Perhaps the judge in under a lot of stress and needs his meds increased.  But wait.  Here we have the newspaper of record, a paper that only prints what is fit to print, saying essentially the same thing.  The New York Times  reported details on several of these plots.  The article claims, "all these dramas were facilitated by the F.B.I., whose undercover agents and informers posed as terrorists."  Informers are recruited because of a vulnerability, they "are often convicted felons working in exchange for leniency."  Judge Colleen McMahon commented on one pathetic case: “Only the government could have made a ‘terrorist’ out of Mr. Cromitie, whose buffoonery is positively Shakespearean in its scope.” 

The secrecy surrounding the events of January 6 has raised more interest in the government's actions.  The murder of Ashli Babbitt is one example.  This 5'2" woman was shot at close range by a plainclothesman while she attempted to climb through a window.  There is not a use of force policy in the civilized world that would permit an officer discharging his weapon in such a situation.  An authority on such matters, Chris Cuomo, asserted, “Police are trained to deal with non-compliance, with force that is not lethal.”  Perhaps the officer mistook his Glock for a taser.  Yet Rep. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla. stated, "When they broke the glass in the back, the [police] lieutenant that was there . . . didn't have a choice at that time."  Perhaps the requirements for the Capitol police need to be raised.  Since 2015 there have been three incidents where Capitol police left their service weapons in restrooms.

The Whitewashing of Black Lives Matter

 The Deep State has done its best to portray Black Lives Matter as a moderate movement.  Wikipedia describes BLM as "a decentralized political and social movement protesting against incidents of police brutality and all racially motivated violence against black people."  Wikipedia says its loose structure has contributed to confusion in the press.  The confusion is convenient because it allows BLM to disavow any comments by it members the public finds offensive.  Wikipedia claims BLM, "protests have been overwhelmingly peaceful; when violence does occur, it is often committed by police or by counter-protestors.  Despite this, opponents have falsely portrayed the movement as violent."  House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer doesn't "accept" the premise that Antifa and BLM are violent.  ABC’s Sunny Hostin maintains that violent protests are "manufactured by the Trump campaign."  All branches of the Deep State assert that BLM is a respectable non-violent movement.

BLM leaders were invited to the White House by President Obama.  The Democratic National Committee has adopted a resolution expressing its support for the Black Lives Matter movement.  In November of 2014, Charles Wade, a BLM activist, traveled to Geneva, Switzerland to speak before the United Nations on the subject of police brutality.  Black Lives Matter leader, DeRay McKesson, taught a course on Transformational Leadership in the BLM Movement at Yale Divinity School funded through a $120,000 grant from the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations.  Washington, D.C.'s Mayor Muriel Bowser announced that part of the street outside of the White House had been officially renamed to Black Lives Matter Plaza. Nearly 300 major U.S. corporations have pledge literally hundreds of millions of dollars to BLM and other "racial justice" causes.  Bank of America has pledged a $1 billion donation to the cause of fighting "racial inequality."  According to The Economist, between May 2020 and December 2020, donations to Black Lives Matter related causes amounted to 10.6 billion dollars.  How could BLM be anything other than a respectable mainstream movement?

It does not require a great deal of investigation to discover that BLM is not the respectable organization the media portrays.  BLM was founded in 2013 by Patrisse Cullors, Alicia Garza, and Opal Tometi.  Cullors stated,  “Myself and Alicia [Garza] in particular are trained organizers.  We are trained Marxists. We are super-versed on, sort of, ideological theories.”  She also is involved with some extremely bizarre occult practices.  All criticism of BLM can be refuted.  Because of its "loose structure" any objectionable act can be denied by the "real" BLM.  

BLM is famous for its catchy chants like “Pigs In A Blanket, Fry 'Em Like Bacon!”          

CNN has explained that this chant was used by a local group not affiliated with the national Black Lives Matter.  Police claimed the chant promoted death to police.  Rashad Turner, a founder of the St. Paul Black Lives Matter group, said "no one is promoting violence." The chant "was simply a demand for police officers who kill people to be treated the same as civilians who kill people."  Other chants  may be more difficult to explain.  “What do we want? Dead cops! When do we want it? Now!”, “Every City, Every Town, Burn the Precinct to the Ground” and "Death to America" may be more difficult to explain.  359 officers died in the line of duty in 2020.  Excuses should not be made for chants about the killing of police officers.

There are undoubtedly moderate members of BLM.  However there are a considerable number of extreme radicals in the organization.  BLM Activist Samantha Shader has admitted to throwing a Molotov Cocktail at a vehicle containing four officers in NY city.  Black Lives Matter Toronto co-founder Yusra Khogali has tweeted asking Allah for strength “to not cuss/kill these men and white folks out here today.”   The intolerance of these radicals has led to excesses like the killing of an Indianapolis 24 year old mother of a three year old for saying "All lives matter."

A Princeton University study links BLM to 91% of riots during the summer of 2020.  Of course this study will be disputed but the fact that BLM is a violent movement cannot be denied.  They will never be satisfied.  New York Black Lives Matter president Hawk Newsome: "if this country doesn't give us what we want, then we will burn down this system and replace it.  Prominent Black Lives Matter activist Maya Echols predicted the results of the Derek Chauvin trial: “If George Floyd’s murderer is not sentenced, just know that all hell is gonna break loose. Don’t be surprised when buildings are on fire. Just saying.” As Vice-President Harris has stated, "They're not going to stop . . . they're not going to let up, and they should not, and we should not.”

Chinese Plans For Replacing The U.S. As World Leader

 

The Chinese Communist Party has plans to replace the United States as the world's leading power.  They are being increasingly open about their plans.

Three academics from Renmin University have revealed Chinese plans to replace the United States as the leading world power.  Renmin University is equivalent to Harvard or Yale, a university where future leaders are groomed.  In 2016 Professor Jin Canrong suggested that one of the most effective methods was to infiltrate the U.S. House of Representatives.  In 2020 Dr. Li Yi claimed, “We are ahead of schedule in terms of overtaking the United States. There will be no problem reaching this goal in 2027. The U.S. will not survive.  We will drive the U.S. to its death.”  Perhaps the most revealing talk was delivered by Professor Di Dongsheng.  Di's talk was televised and may have been the equivalent of a wardrobe malfunction; approved by the CCP as a provocation; "We own you and what are you going to do about it?"  China expert Gordon Chang said, “Di Dongsheng’s comments show the breathtaking arrogance of the Chinese elite, which now has no hesitation about expressing in public its belief that with a President Biden, China will once again control the highest levels in Washington.”  Di's talk was deleted but like everything else on the web it could not be entirely erased.  It can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsOB1ngIl_Q.

Di claimed, "For the past 30 years, 40 years we have been utilizing the core power of the United States."  He complained that Chinese influence began to "dry up" under the Trump administration.  Also, "The CCP began tugging on the sleeves of their friends on Wall Street, in Congress, and in the media, but got nowhere with the White House." He claimed, "Wall Street had a very profound influence over America’s domestic and foreign affairs since the 1970s. We used to heavily rely on them.”  But he claimed, “Wall Street couldn’t control Trump."  Trump was imposing tariffs, luring back U.S. companies, and forcing concessions on unfair trade practices. 

Di provides an example of the power the CPP yields.  He attempted to provide a financial incentive to a bookstore owner to hold an event for a book by Chinese President Xi Jinping.  The owner refused.  Di reported this to his superiors and was later told to continue with the original plan.  He explained why he was able to continue, "a hero had helped us out."  A CCP official introduced him to an "an old lady with a big nose, obviously a Jew simply by that look.”  She was a Chinese citizen, lived in China and spoke perfect Mandarin.  Di said, “I suddenly realized she is one of the Chinese people’s ‘old friends."  He claimed she oversaw Asian operations for a major Wall Street financial institution.  He asked her how she had convinced the recalcitrant store owner to change his mind.  She cunningly replied, "I reasoned with him."

Di most damning comments concerned Hunter Biden.  He claimed, "Trump has been saying that Biden’s son has some sort of global foundation.  Have you noticed that?  Who helped him (Biden’s son) build the foundations?  Got it?  There are a lot of deals in all these."  Di does not explicitly say that China helped him built the foundations.  However, why else would he mention it.  Chinese methods of suborning American officials are illustrated by the case of Congressman Eric Swalwella member of the House Intelligence Committee.  Swalwell was romantically involved with a Chinese student named Fang Fang.  When she learned that the FBI was closing in on her she fled back to China.  Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy was given a briefing on Swalwell by the FBI.  Afterward he remarked, "I can't tell you about what [was in the briefing], but I can tell you this. What I learned today, and anyone who was in that room with me would never allow Swalwell to be on the Intel Committee, or to continue to be on it."  The fact that Swalwell remains on the Intel Committee is testimony to the fact that the Chinese have great influence on committee assignments.  During the 2019/2020 school year 372,532 Chinese were enrolled in U.S. universities.  It is unlikely that the Swalwell case is an isolated incident. 

In addition to China's extensive espionage network the country has the advantage of a cheap labor source.  China's use of slave labor is well decumented.  CEOs and athletes can overlook the use of slave labor by the CCP.  After-all they are not Uyghurs.  But how do black athletes deal with the incredible racism exhibited by the Chinese.  David Goldman reports that, "In Chinese media, Africans are often characterized as backward or primitive and blackness as unattractive. Virulent racism common on social media is largely unchecked by censors, including claims that Africans are rapists, drug dealers, or AIDS carriers."  Chinese television run racist advertisements, like a laundry ad showing a black man dumped into a washing machine and coming out as a light-skinned Chinese.  Bill Maher recently asserted, “We’re not losing to China.  We lost. We’re just waiting for the returns to come in.”   People who have done their best to tear down and ridicule American values are beginning to realize that tearing down the deplorable they are coming with us.  

Rachel Levine Confirmed

The United States Senate has approved President Biden's nominee for U.S. assistant health secretary.Dr. Rachel Levine will be the first openly transgender federal official confirmed by the U.S. Senate.Opposition to Levine centered around his performance as Pennsylvania’s health secretary and not on his obvious psychiatric problems.The American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) does not explicitly state that “gender non-conformity is . . .in itself a mental disorder.”Its designation is evolving.At one time homosexuality was considered a mental disease.Perhaps if this trend continues, heterosexuality will be classified as a disease.

Gender confusion has been promoted by the media and the educational system.“Good Morning America” hosted an 11-year-old “drag kid” known as “Desmond is Amazing.”His performance, a suggestive dance, was met with thunderous applause.The hosts described him as “courageous.”Examples of school promotion of transgender policies are too numerous to mention.Feminist Camille Paglia asserts that androgyny has "become a fashion."Levine has been praised and given support for "her grace in the wake of transphobic bigotry over the course of the past year."Some in the transgender community have hailed him as a role model.

Senator Rand Paul attempted to get a definitive answer from Levine about his policy.Paul pointed out, “Genital mutilation has been nearly universally condemned.According to the W.H.O. (World Health Organization), genital mutilation is recognized internationally as a violation of human rights."He continued, “Dr. Levine, you have supported both allowing minors to be given hormone blockers to prevent them from going through puberty as well as surgical destruction of a minor’s genitalia, like surgical mutilation.” Paul then asked, “Dr. Levine, do you believe that minors are capable of making such a life-changing decision as changing one's sex?”Levine avoided the question by responding, "Transgender medicine is a very complex and nuanced field."Paul persisted, “Do you support the government intervening to override the parents' consent to give a child puberty blockers cross-sex hormone and/or amputation surgery of breasts and genitalia?” Levine repeated his non answer, "Transgender medicine is a very complex and nuanced field."

Levine will be in a position to influence policy at the Department of Health and Human Services.He has been a strong proponent of“sex reassignment” treatment for minors.He has endorsed puberty-blockers to gender-confused children throughout puberty, followed by “sex change” surgery at 18. While this surgery is usually performed on adults, Levine claims "there are exceptions."Every Senator who voted to confirm Levine is now on record as supporting childhood sex changes.Levine's position on this subject is in line with the Democratic Party and the administration.One ofthe Presidents first actions after being sworn in was to sign an executive order announcing the policy to “prevent and combat discrimination on the basis of gender identity or sexual orientation, and to fully enforce Title VII and other laws that prohibit discrimination on the basis of gender identity or sexual orientation.”

Paul pointed out that “Hormonal interruption of puberty can permanently alter and prevent secondary sexual characteristics,” and that “The American College of Pediatricians reports that 80 to 95 percent of pre-pubertal children with gender dysphoria will experience resolution by late adolescence if not exposed to medical intervention and social affirmation.”Paul declared that, "In the gender dysphoria clinic in England 10% of the kids are between the ages of three and ten."It is becoming increasingly apparent that this movement is targeting children.1960s radical Jerry Ruben explained, “We are stealing the youth of America right out of the kindergartens and elementary schools.”Beatnik Allen Ginsberg commented, “We’ll get you through your children!”

A public school district outside of Columbus, Ohio, has spent more than $134,000 in legal fees to obtain a permit to install gender-neutral bathrooms in its new facilities.The school district attempted to do this without informing parents.An ultimate goal of progressives is to have transgender males compete in female sports events.This would involve them showering with their female teammates.Of course,this sounds absurd.Or does it?There was a twitter argument suggesting that young girls should be protected from seeing male genitalia in a girls’ restroom or locker room.One asked, “What do you tell a 12-year-old girl who doesn’t want to see a penis in the locker room?”CNN's Chris Cuomo responded, “I wonder if she is the problem or her overprotective and intolerant dad? Teach tolerance.”

News Alert: Sun rises in the West

 

It should be unnecessary to point out that this is satire.  However, we live in an age where the truly impossible is frequently believed.

Scientists have commented on the recent and seemingly impossible fact that the sun rose in the west yesterday.  All the major news sources have reported on the phenomenon. FOX News Channel was the only cable news channel to exhibit any skepticism: explaining that they would have to reserve judgment.  Polling data reveals that 92% of the public agreed with the news networks and the scientists.

NASA spokesperson, Emil Kleinhuhn, speculated that this event might have disastrous consequences and may have been the result of President Trump’s failed policies.  

A CNN news report showing what appears to be the sun rising in the east is attributed to an optical illusion.  Representative Jerry Nadler has initiated an investigation.

In spite of the almost unanimous agreement that the science is correct, there remain skeptics.  Fred Probitatis of the Goddard Space Flight Center, who had originally denied the phenomenon, was found unresponsive in his living-room this morning. The cause of death was ruled a suicide as a result of three bullet wounds in the back of his head.  He appears to have become extremely depressed by the reaction to his skepticism.

Facebook and twitter accounts of several deniers have been blocked and several deniers have complained about their employment being terminated.  Jennifer Stultus, star of stage and screen, has apologized for her original skepticism and has announced that she will be leaving Hollywood and will be joining a convent in the south of Italy.

It has been revealed that Harry Bremse, a major advocate for the deniers, has several sexual harassment charges against him from women he knew thirty years ago.  He has a long history of making outlandish claims that have failed to come true and is a one-time leader in the birther movement.  It appears that many of the deniers are white supremacists. 

Greta Thunberg has attribute this event to climate change. Although Vladimir Putin has denied Russian involvement, there is strong evidence that the Russians were involved.  The FBI and the CIA will continue with their investigations.  Apparently they have obtained a dossier from a reliable source implicating the Russians. Anonymous sources at an undisclosed location maintain that the dossier is fully verified.  President Biden has vowed to make the Russians pay a price.

The 6 January " Insurrection"

A successful conspiracy should be limited in the number of people involved.  They must be highly intelligent and free from the need to feed their ego by revealing how important they are.  The events surrounding the 6 January "insurrection" met none of these criteria.  Hundreds of organizations were involved and responsible officials contradicted each other. 

The approved narrative:  Because Donald Trump falsely claimed that the election was stolen, he incited his white supremacist followers to invade the Capitol in an attempt to overthrow the government.  Sen. Gary Peters described it as a "direct attack on our democracy."  This provided proof that white supremacists were a real threat.  It also eclipsed the BLM and Antifa riot bad press. The FBI reported that there was no indication that individuals associated with Antifa disguised themselves among pro-Trump supporters in order to provoke the mob at the U.S. Capitol.  Reason magazine admitted there was a single one but, "the existence of one person vaguely connected to antifa does not establish that antifa was ultimately culpable for what transpired."

The disturbance at the Capitol on 6 January is routinely described as a “deadly insurrection.”  The riots that took place during the summer and cause between 1 and 2 billion dollars in damage and at least 17 deaths are described as "peaceful."  The only death that can be attributed directly to the violence on 6 January was the death of a woman shot by police in violation of any law enforcement's rules of engagement.  It is clear that the government and the Deep State media are not giving an accurate picture of what took place.

You did not need a crystal ball to know that violent groups would use the gathering to promote violence.  Past experience with mass gathering like Trump's inauguration in 2017 should have required increased security.  Yet, according to the Washington Post, "Capitol Police did not take the kind of extra precautions, such as frozen zones and hardened barriers, that are typically used for major events near the Capitol."  Former House Sergeant-at-Arms Paul Irving said “We all believed that the plan met the threat and that we were prepared."  Some of their confidence was based on previous Trump rallies.  Trump supporters had held dozens of mass meetings in the recent past.  Police were assaulted in none of them.  Former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund claimed, “The intelligence that we based our planning on indicated that the January 6 protests were expected to be similar to the previous [peaceful] MAGA rallies in 2020, which drew tens of thousands of participants,”  However, Sund remarked, “I witnessed insurgents beating police officers with fists, pipes, sticks, bats, metal barricades and flag poles.”  The version of the account does not match with other claims.  Metro Police Chief Robert Contee testified that former U.S. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund "pleaded" with military officials to send in the National Guard.  He warned Congress six times about the high risk of violence before January 6th.   John Falcicchio, chief of staff for D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser, claimed “Literally, this guy is on the phone, I mean, crying out for help. It’s burned in my memories.”

There is evidence that the FBI withheld intelligence from the responsible parties prior to 6 January.  Steven Sund told lawmakers he did not receive a copy of an FBI report warning of violence that was issued the day before the attack on the Capitol."  It had been sent to the police but was not forwarded to Sund.  Sund testified that on, "January 5th, during a meeting I hosted with my executive team, the Capitol Police board and a dozen of the top law enforcement and military officials from DC no entity, including the FBI, provided any new intelligence regarding January 6."  According to the Washington Post the warning that extremists were preparing to commit violence and “war,” contradicted senior officials' declaration the bureau had no intelligence indicating anyone planned on violence.  There was a plethora of evidence that Antifa and other extremist groups planned on high jacking the Trump rally.  Millie Weaver provides an extensive record of extremist plans to disrupt the event.  Is it possible that a 29-year-old blond is a more capable investigator than a multi-billion dollar intelligence complex?

The FBI said that there was no indication individuals associated with antifa disguised themselves among pro-Trump supporters in order to provoke the mob at the U.S. Capitol.  The head of the FBI’s Washington Field Office, Steven D’Antuono, told reporters that the agency did not have intelligence suggesting the pro-Trump rally would be anything more than a lawful demonstration.  During his congressional testimony FBI Director Chris Wray was asked whether Antifa members participated in the January 6th riot.  Wray said the FBI “has seen no evidence” of Antifa participating. 

Sen. Ron Johnson had a totally different take on the affair.  According to The Hill, "Sen. Johnson read from an unverified eyewitness account raising unproven claims about 'provocateurs' and people pretending to be supporters of former President Trump participating in the riot."  The Hill stressed "unverified" and "unproven."  For this he was ridiculed.  Sen. Amy Klobuchar remarked, “Ron Johnson has again engaged in a conspiracy theory — that’s what he does.”  Johnson was basing his remarks on the work of J. Michael Waller Senior Analyst for Strategy at the Center for Security Policy and war correspondent Michael Yon.  Yon claimed, "What we’ve seen so far . . . Antifa clearly led the attack.”  Would the leaders of Antifa forego an opportunity to disrupt a Trump event?  It was reported that, "There was a conspicuous absence of the usual left-wing suspects that are typically drawn to large right-wing gatherings, such as Antifa and Black Lives Matters leaders."  Had Antifa decided to go on vacation?

Thanks to Project Veritas we have information about the methods used to disrupt events.  In 2016 two top Democratic strategists were recorded talking about planting agitators at Trump events.  Robert Creamer, founder of Democracy Advocates and Scott Foval of Americans United for Change 

Foval talked about, "we have to have a central kind of agitator training."  He bragged, “We’ve been busing people in to deal with you f—-ing assholes for 50 years, and we’re not going to stop now," and claimed his paid agitators fueled a Chicago protest that forced the Trump campaign to cancel its event.  Creamer said

“Wherever Trump and Pence are going to be, we have events. And we have a whole team across the country that does that."  Foval said he has training centers in New York, Washington, Las Vegas, Colorado, and Minneapolis.

Of course, Nancy Pelosi is demanding that we get to the bottom of this.  She has formed a commission to investigate headed by Lt. General Russel Honoré.  While this investigation is in progress all questions will have to wait.  The FBI will naturally conduct their own investigations.  Following the August attack on Sen. Rand Paul the Senator requested an investigation on who was financing people from out of state to fly to D.C. and stay at first class hotels.  Nothing came of this and nothing will come of the investigation into the 6 January events.  The events of 6 January must be covered up.  It is quite possible that the riot was conducted with the full knowledge of the FBI and the congressional leadership.  Were Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell curious about what might happen of 6 January.  Did they not have address to the FBI's intelligence?  The FBI has infiltrated many of these groups.  The Proud Boys, labeled a dangerous 'white supremacist' group by US agencies, is led by Enrique Tarrio, an Afro-Cuban FBI informant.

The entire scheme is revealed by a Time magazine article.  It is referred to as " the inside story of the conspiracy to save the 2020 election."  The authors do not shy away from the term conspiracy.  The article reveals how Mike Podhorzer, a senior advisor to the president of the AFL-CIO, organized efforts to influence the 2020 election.  Podhorzer formed a coalition of more than 150 liberal groups.  These included "racial-justice activists and others."   Podhorzer directed the activist groups to "stan down."  They followed his instructions.  We know from the Time magazine article that there was a vast coalition working on this conspiracy.  Was the FBI and Congressional leadership included.

Wakanda Forever

The New York City Department of Education is involved in a controversy about the Wakanda salute.It draws attention to the character of the people running that department.

Unfortunately, it is necessary to explain that what is to follow is not satire.It is a recording of actual events reported in the “mainstream” media.It concerns two New York City school superintendents who claim they were fired for not giving the ‘Wakanda' salute.The“Wakanda” crossed arm salute originated from the comic book inspired movie Black Panther. In the 2018 movie, the cross-arm motion represented Black empowerment.

Karen Amesis suing the New York Department of Education for $150 million because she claims she was fired for age, sex and ethnic bias.Ames had been praised by the newly appointed New York City Schools Chancellor Richard Carranza for her success in raising math scores.Carranza was appointed New York City Schools Chancellor by Mayor de Blasio in March 2018. She now claims she was fired after sharing a Holocaust story and refusing to perform the ‘Wakanda’ salute.

Ames claims she was forced to take a demotion in order to preserve her pension.She says she was targeted because she is over 40, and Jewish.Ames says she was grilled about her “ethnic background,” and criticized by a colleague for sharing her grandparents’ experience during the Holocaust in Poland. She claims she was “admonished” for declining a requests to take part in the comic book movie-inspired “Wakanda Forever” salute to “black power.”

In August 2018, Ames was summoned to DOE headquarters, where Cheryl Watson-Harris, Carranza’s top deputy, handed her a termination letter.Watson-Harris who told her that the department was “was moving in a new direction.” Watson-Harris has subsequently moved to DeKalb, Georgia where she was hired as superintendent with an annual salary of $325,000. That is $75,000 less than the President of the United States receives.In addition to being terminated, Ames’ colleagues were prohibited from communicating with her and staff were ordered to “eradicate” any reference to Ames.Ames was sent down the 1984 memory hole.Ames had attended an “implicit-bias workshop” where superintendents were asked to tell their personal stories.When she related a story about her Jewish grandparents’ situation during the Holocaust a colleague, Rasheda Amon, informed her, “That is not about being Jewish! It’s about black and brown boys of color only.”Apparently, her personal story did not include “black or brown boys of color.”

A second NYC superintendent was also terminated.Rafaela Espinal, former head of New York’s Community School District 12 was fired because “she declined to take part in a group ‘Wakanda Forever’ salute to black power.She was criticized by Bronx superintendent Meisha Ross Porter who frequently asked gatherings of DOE administrators to do the ‘Wakanda Forever’ salute.Porter allegedly referred to the 1960’s Black Panther Party when encouraging staff members to make the gesture.She told them about her father’s involvement in the Black Panthers.Ross Porter was later promoted to executive superintendent.Espinal who identifies as an Afro-Latin, claims a fellow DOE administrator told her she wasn’t “black enough” and she should "just learn to be quiet and look pretty."Obviously, she was not told that by a white male because that certainly would have made the front page.Espinal was fired in August 2018 because she did not fit into the department’s new agenda. She was one year short of earning a lifetime DOE pension and accepted a lower-level position in order to keep her benefits.She is also suing the New York City Department of Education for $40 million.

A DOE spokeswoman told the New York Post that the department is committed to a “safe, inclusive work environment” and denied any claims of discrimination. She asserted that the ‘Wakanda Forever’ salute is a symbol “used to represent the Bronx,” not black power.But is it possible that this gesture could be easily misinterpreted?Apparently, that was Espinal’s problem.People frequently misinterpret gestures.Some people have been fired for making the “OK” gesture or even cracking their knuckles.
