The Kerry Ultimatum

It is a pathetic fact that our Secretary of State does not realize how ridiculous he appears here at home and abroad.  John Kerry has given Syria a “hard” deadline to start thinking about the political transition to get rid of Bashar Assad.  This is not a “soft” deadline but a “hard” one.  “If Assad does not adhere to this, there will clearly be repercussions.”  There will be “serious consequences.”
U.S. Middle Eastern policy has been such a great success.  Just look at all we have accomplished in Libya.  Shortly after the fall of Qaddafi President Obama proclaimed, “After four decades of darkness, they (the Libyan people) can walk the streets, free from a tyrant.”  For some strange reason news from Libya has been sparse lately.  It must mean that all is quiet there.
Assad is probably not all that eager to give up power in light of Muimar Qaddafi’s fate ("'We came, we saw, he died.")  If Kerry/Obama have their way Assad will be replaced a camel urine swilling Geitenneuker.
