Prepare For The Arrival Of The “Great Firewall of China.”

Social media companies have not been completely successful in censoring information that is unfavorable to the Deep State.  Government may have to step in.

Conservative frequently complain about Twitter and Facebook policies that censor conservative views.  Even “moderates” admit that these social networking services are biased against conservatives.  The Wrap reports, “Twitter and Facebook have been increasingly proactive in moderating content.”  Moderating content is a euphemism for censoring.  Twitter and Facebook are social networking services that are privately owned.  It is argued that they are entitled to deny service to anyone they choose.  (Could they deny service on the basis of race?)  Their influence on public opinion cannot be overstated, however.  In addition to social networking services, website and blog hosting services are capable of denying service.  Recently WordPress, the world’s largest website and blog hosting service informed the site, The Conservative Treehouse, that it was being deplatformed.  The reason given was "the incompatibility between your site’s content and our terms."  Social media have censored a large amount of information.  However, they have not been 100% effective.  They will be making improvements.

Social media censorship has had a major impact on public opinion.  This was dramatically illustrated by the media treatment of the New York Post article dealing with the Hunter Biden laptop.  Twitter and Facebook blocked platform links to the New York Post revelations of the Biden family scandals.  This obviously had an impact on the presidential election.  Mark Zuckerberg argued that his company’s delay in releasing the article was to allow time for their own fact checkers to vet it.  Twitter’s Jack Dorsey admitted “this action was wrong” in Twitter’s censorship of the Hunter Biden emails.

Of course Americans are protected by the Second Amendment.  Government censorship can not happen here.  We are a nation of laws, not men.  We have free and fair elections.  (Please excuse the sarcasm.)  However, if the private media companies are not able to filter out unapproved opinion the government may be forced to step in.  Terrorist and racist posts must be blocked.  This must be done for the greater good; to protect the American public.  Fortunately Facebook has been able to team up with people like ex-Stasi agent Anetta Kahane, founder of the Amadeu Antonio Foundation.  Still,  if this fails the government must step in.  The system is already in place and only needs to be imported.

The Chinese government has implemented a variety of strategies to censor the Internet.  They are referred to as the “Great Firewall of China.”  The government maintains complete control over the Internet.  The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) controls access to the worldwide web.  Their social media app WeChat employs artificial intelligence to scan and delete images considered to include banned content. There are over 10,000 websites blocked in China including the New York Times, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.  Chinese tech firms employ thousands of censors.  Facebook plans to increase the number of its employees who review and delete content on the site from 4,500 to 7,500.  According to The Wrap “China is a leader in developing and exporting internet censorship tools.”  It concluded, "Internet censorship in China will likely get more rigorous."

Government censorship is obviously nothing new.  It has been countered in various ways.  One effective way is the production of Samizdats (Russian for self-publishing).  Samizdats were a form of resistance where individuals reproduced censored publications, often by hand, and passed the documents from reader to reader.  The Soviets saw this as a serious threat and harsh punishment was meted out to people caught possessing or copying Samizdats.

The List

Progressives have their lists of individuals they plan on punishing for their support of Donald Trump.

Significant changes will be taking place under the Biden/Harris Administration. They will begin by identifying people who have opposed the results of this election.Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez asked, “Is anyone archiving these Trump sycophants for when they try to downplay or deny their complicity in the future?”

Michael Simon, a former Obama administration staffer, responded “Yes, we are. Every administration staffer, campaign staffer, bundler, lawyer who represented them – everyone.”The Washington Post’s Jennifer Rubintweeted, "Any R now promoting rejection of an election or calling to not to follow the will of voters or making baseless allegations of fraud should never serve in office, join a corporate board, find a faculty position or be accepted into "polite" society. We have a list."

Maxine Watersrevealed this in 2014: “The President has put in place an organization with the kind of database that no one has ever seen before in life. That’s going to be very, very powerful. That database will have information about everything on every individual on ways that it’s never been done before and whoever runs for President on the Democratic ticket has to deal with that. They’re going to go down with that database and the concerns of those people because they can’t get around it. And he’s [President Obama] been very smart. It’s very powerful what he’s leaving in place.”

Who will be one this list?Naturally, as Arizona’s Secretary of State Katie Hobbs describes them, they are Trump's "neo-nazi base".Michelle Obamabelieves it could include the "tens of millions of people (who) voted for the status quo, even when it meant supporting lies, hate, chaos, and division.”These are the Deplorables. But it could also include less apparently offensive groups. The Singing Nuns, a traditional Catholic Sisters organization have been described as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. The Little Sisters of the Poorare also liable to be “investigated.”Every attorney involved in the investigation of voter fraud is on the list. This includes even liberal democrats.Jonathan Turley, who testified at Trump's impeachment hearing, is not sure if he will be found “complicit.”He writers, tongue-in-cheek, "I am frantically assembling mycolumns criticizing Trump to clutch pathetically to my chest through any public shaming. It is not clear if any of us can still redeem ourselves as cooperative subjects for reeducation but, I am prepared to give up names (starting with my editors). I will immediately embrace everything from Biden’s consideration of unprecedented court packing to Elizabeth Warren’s call for unconstitutional wealth taxes as really good ideas. Just give me a chance."He may not find this as humorous in the near future.

What are the penalties?   The least severe penalty is suggested by Maxine Waters: "if you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.Robert Reich suggests that "When this nightmare is over, we need a Truth and Reconciliation Commission. It would erase Trump’s lies, comfort those who have been harmed by his hatefulness, and name every official, politician, executive, and media mogul whose greed and cowardice enabled this catastrophe."  This may be something like the French Revolution's Committee of Public Safety.  New York Times Contributor

Wajahat Ali, “You can’t heal or reform the GOP who are now an extremist party.  They have to be broken, burned down and rebuilt.  When Biden is in power treat them like the active threats to democracy they are." "American political strategist" Rick Wilson has a recommendation that reveals either his ignorance or malevolence.  Wilson claims, "Vichy Republicans who collaborate with Trump may some day face their own épuration sauvage."  This savage purge involved arrests, beatings, interrogation with torture, and summary executions.

Of course the grand prize would be the arrest and imprisonment of Donald Trump.  Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance is investigating the President on a number of charges.  New York state Attorney General Letitia James is also investigating the President.  Of course Biden's Attorney General will initiate an investigation.  Will he be convicted?  If it is politically advantageous.  It is not difficult to convict an  innocent man.  Senator Ted Stevens, General Michael Flynn, Congressman Steve Stockman are examples.  Cardinal Richelieu famously said, "If you give me six sentences written by the most innocent of men I will find something in them with which to hang him."  Our justice system does not require six sentences.  Everything can be fabricated.

Do we have the Yetzovs, Berias, and Yagodas to carry out this épuration sauvage?  Americans would be surprised.  Anita Dunn, co-chair of the Biden-Harris Transition Team, claims her favorite political philosophers is champion mass murderer Mao Tse-tung.  Undoubtedly, with all the talk of burning down the GOP and not allowing Trump supporters to be seen in public, there are many others who share her views.

Review of Mr. Jones

This is the story of journalist Gareth Jones who traveled to Moscow during the famine in the Ukraine.

In 1933 he issued a press release describing the widespread famine in detail. The Holodomor, 'to kill by starvation’, was the greatest crime of the 20th century.  It is still being largely ignored.  Journalists assigned to Moscow were completely aware of the situation in the Ukraine.  They preferred to ignore it for their own selfish ends.  Millions of people perished without a care on their part.  Jones was cut from a different cloth. His report was unwelcome in a great many newspapers,
as some elements of the intelligentsia were in sympathy with the Bolshevik "utopia". The movie depicts the depravity of the media elite.
They may be described as Stalin’s degenerate bootlickers. This is not unusual behavior for the media.  Former CNN head Eason Jordan admitted in a 2003 New York Times op-ed piece titled “The News We Kept to Ourselves” that CNN distorted the news in order to maintain access.

The movie deals with the significant role Pulitzer Prize winner Walter Duranty played in Washington’s recognition of the Soviet Union.  The New York Times published a denial of Jones's statement by Walter Duranty under the headline "Russians Hungry, But Not Starving".  The New York Time's ran the headline: "Russian and Foreign Observers in Country See No Ground for Predications of Disaster."  Of course, since they were not permitted to leave the city.  Unfortunately the movie does not deal with the June 4, 1931 Kliefoth memo.  This memo reveals that Duranty was aware of the massive deaths and that the New York Times had an agreement with Moscow to only report on issues approved by Moscow.

Jones was kidnapped and murdered in 1935 while investigating in Japanese-occupied Mongolia quite possibly by the Soviet NKVD.  This is a high quality movie but is definitely not a Hollywood production.
