Comments on "Isikoff Lays an Egg."

Diana,
I just finished reading your article “Isikoff Lays an Egg.”   It appeared to me that you were being too kind to Isikoff and Corn.  You write that Isikoff was “easily gulled by Democratic Party and Clinton campaign contractors, “ and “the whole thing smelled, but Isikoff and Corn didn’t seem to notice.”  Isikoff and Corn are member of the Deep State.  They are completely aware of what they are doing.  Pleading ignorance is a frequent excuse.

The level of government corruption is astounding.  Everyone connected with this affair is corrupt.  That includes the FISA courts and the former and current heads of the intel agencies.  I recognized the “dossier” as bogus on the first page.  While it was not a government document it was supposedly created by a member of the intel community.  The author or compiler could classify it any way he wanted.  However, the classification CONFIDENTIAL/SENSITIVE SOURCE does not exist.  If I had submitted a report with such a classification while in the DIA I would expect to be immediately relieved.  Isikoff was aware of this when he wrote, “After all, this was Russia—where sources could be shot or poisoned for talking about such matters.”  The “dossier” suggests that an individual close to Putin was a source.

The Deep State Media has a close relationship with the Deep State intel community.  Members of the media are routinely fed information by upper level intel bureaucrats.  Inspector General Michael Horowitz reported that about 50 FBI agents took 300 free gifts from news media.  That was in DC alone.  Examples of these “free gifts” are almost innocent: expensive private dinners, NFL tickets, parties on booze cruises and discounts on travel.  James Wolfe, though not a member of the FBI, revealed that there were other “free gifts” offered for classified information.  While Security Director of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence he had an intimate three-year relationship with Ali Watkins, a reporter for the New York Times.  There is also the strong possibility that deputy director’s wife received hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions as a result of a favorable outcome of an investigation.

This situation will not be covered by the Deep State media.  They do not want to lose their access to classified information.  True Pundit claims, “Wray and Horowitz are protecting the agents who took bribes, as well as their media enablers.”  This allows the FBI to maintain its reputation as an honest law enforcement agency.  Incredibly James Comey had to audacity to claim, “I hope people watching know how seriously we take leaks of classified information, but I don't want to confirm it by saying we're investigating it, and I'm sorry I have to draw that line. I just think that's the right way to be.”
