If you believe that registered Republican Christopher Wray voted for Donald Trump I have a bridge for sale. Wray has repeatedly demonstrated that his allegiance is to the Deep State. Wray may not be the most intelligent individuals but he is a master of obfuscation. He illustrated this during early testimony before Congress. Wray was asked by Congerssman Issa if he agreed that the decision not to prosecute Hillery Clinton was appropriate. Wray responded: “I think of the Inspector General’s investigation as de novo in one sense, in which that it’s objective, arms length, no skin in the game, if you will. But you’re right, the Inspector General is not second guessing prosecutorial decisions and things like that. However, the Inspector General is looking at the very important question of whether or not improper political considerations factored into the decision making. If he were to conclude that’s what happened, then I think at that point were we’re in a situation were we have to assess what else might need to be done to unring that bell.”
We know that the FBI takes leaks seriously. We have former FBI Director Comey’s word for that. He testified, “I hope people watching know how seriously we take leaks of classified information, but I don't want to confirm it by saying we're investigating it, and I'm sorry I have to draw that line. I just think that's the right way to be.” Unfortunately Comey had to relate how he leaked memos of his conversations with the President.
Wray’s major concern is defending the FBI. If this means concealing evidence of criminality. He has been threatened with contempt by the previous Congress for “stonewalling” their requests for documents. He allowed the retroactivel classification of Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Kathleen Kavalec’s memo on Christopher Steele. This memo claimed that Steele was a political operative who made false claims. This originally unclassified memo has been sealed by the FBI until December 31, 2041. This attempt to conceal embarrassing information might fail. Senator Graham has requested Kavalec testify before the Senate.
The FBI can send a SWAT team to the door of even the most harmless individual. The raid on Oliver Stone’s house was totally unnecessary. Christopher Wray undoubtedly approved of this travesty.
